Ms. Carrascosa is a Spanish national and a permanent U.S. resident. She is a well educated European Union attorney from a self-proclaimed "good Spanish family".
Ms. Carrascosa has lived in the United States "continuously" since 1993. Her business career includes two bankruptcies and a pile of unpaid business loans. She is known to make outrageous and untrue accusations about almost everyone she deals with, both personally and professionally. She and her elitist family consider themselves to be above such "common" people as the Innes family.
Ms. Carrascosa has been indicted by a grand jury in Bergen County on 8 counts of interference with custody and one count of contempt of court. Because Victoria was illegally removed from the United States these charges are elevated to felony 2nd degree kidnapping.
Despite her erratic and often delusional behavior, Ms. Carrascosa and her army of attorneys have successfully avoided a court ordered psychiatric evaluation. It is well documented that she can easily comply with the court order, return Victoria and end her incarceration, yet she refuses to cooperate. Therefore, she remains incarcerated pending her criminal trial.
